What does Sonar Viewer do for you?

Simple!  Sonar Viewer is an amazing programme which allows you to transfer sonar recordings from your Lowrance LCX & LMS, Eagle FishStrike or Eagle SeaChamp Sonar/GPS.

With the purchase of a blank SD/MMC card, which you place in one of the two card slots on all of the above units, you just hit the "Record" button, and you're off. The unit gets to work recording ALL your sonar data onto the card, until you press "Stop" or the memory is used up on the blank card.

When you get back to port, remove the card from the drawer on the unit and take it home with you. Turn your PC on, place the card into the card reader and run the Sonar Viewer programme.

Fully Editable!

Although you will have had your Sonar/GPS programmed with your personal settings, the recording you have on your SD/MMC card is still fully editable with Sonar Viewer.

Chances are, the resolution on your computer screen is greater than your Sonar. So, you get a higher resolution sonar image. You can zoom-in, zoom-out for greater detail close-up, just in case you're examining the structure of a wreck pre-dive, or looking for good hidie-holes and fish targets for your next fishing trip.

Need more detail?  No problem!  You can switch from White sonar background, to blue; or good-old monochrome; how about reverse monochrome; or, you can make up your own custom colours. You want pink fish - you got it!! As daft as it may sound, different colours can display that little extra detail - have a play and see for yourself.

GPS Position Recording:

To top things off, when you are examining the sonar chart on your PC, just place your mouse on any item of interest to you on the screen, and you get the following information:

  • Bottom depth
  • Cursor depth
  • Sounding number
  • Lat/Lon position** - providing the GPS was operational during the recording

**If the GPS was not connected during the recording, you will only access Bottom depth, Cursor depth and Sounding number.

SO, when you've found that wreck, or cracking bit of structure hiding the world's haul of specimen fish, simply note the Lat/Lon position, programme it into your GPS and head back there, armed for success!

Images/screenshots can be cropped, edited, printed, emailed, put into powerpoint presentations . . . . . The applications are many and varied.

It pays to invest in the right kit. This is why we have always strongly backed Lowrance and Eagle Sonar & GPS products.
