McMurdo ICS Navtex Receivers

At JK Max, we recommend the ICS range of Navtex receivers, now produced by McMurdo Ltd. There is no doubt that this range is simply leaps and bounds ahead of the rest when it comes to Navtex technology.

  • Superior screen
  • Multiple font sizes
  • Most lines of text per screen in it's class
  • Awesome message storage capacity
  • Programmable screens to have exactly the information you require in front of you
  • Excellent repeater performance (Nav6 Plus & Nav6A Plus)
  • Dual frequency as standard - no requirement to switch between 490 & 518 kHz
  • Never needs to be out of date. Software and databases are user upgradeable

McMurdo ICS Nav6 RangeThere are 2 main Navtex models in the range: The Nav6 Dual and the Nav6 Plus.

To look at, they're identical, as is their antenna. To decide which one is best for you, there is a simple question:

Do you want your Nav6 to be purely a stand-alone Navtex, or do you require the repeater facilities?

Answer Stand-alone:         see Nav6 Dual

Answer Repeater:               see Nav6 Plus

Other units in the range not yet featured on this website are the Nav6A Plus, the Nav6 Repeater, Nav6hub and Nav6hub Combiner

Nav6A Plus
This unit has all the capabilities of the Nav6 Plus, but does not come with the antenna. This allows you to use a seperate Navtex antenna if you prefer.

Nav6 Repeater
Does exactly what it says on the tin. It is a second display, as pictured above, with no antenna, that links to the main Navtex to repeat the information elsewhere on the vessel

Nav6hub
Is used for combining Multi-Display Systems - 1 NMEA 0183 input

Nav6hub Combiner
For interconnecting Multi-Display Systems - up to 4 seperate NMEA 0183 inputs
